Lloyd Talmadge Carmichael

Mr. Lloyd Talmadge Carmichael of 1305 Berry Hill Rd., South Boston died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the age of 67. Mr. Carmichael was born in Virgilina on January 31, 1943 to the late Thomas Lorenzo Carmichael and the late Mamie Whitt Carmichael and was married to Judy Davis Carmichael. He was retired from J.P. Stevens, was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, and was a proud supporter of the local Dixie Youth Ball programs. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold Lloyd Carmichael and wife, Tracy of South Boston and Robert Lorenzo "Robbie" Carmichael and wife, Barbara of Nathalie; three sisters, Estell C. Nelson of Virgilina, Odell C. Wilson of Rock Hill, SC, and Rosa C. Sharp of Halifax; a brother, Walter Carmichael of Roxboro, NC; a grandson, Christopher "Chris" Carmichael; two granddaughters, Mary Beth Carmichael and Samantha "Sam" Carmichael; and a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Thomas Carmichael and Harry Jasper Carmichael. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove U.M.C. Cemetery with Rev. Jeaux Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Friday, October 1 from 7 until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
