Lois Bowen Jackson

Lois Bowen Jackson of Alton passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the age of 89.  She was born in Mecklenburg County on September 6, 1935 to the late Algie and Mildred Wilkerson Bowen.  She was predeceased by her husband, William "Billy" Lawrence Jackson.

Lois was a member of Alton Baptist Church and was active with her church.  She loved watching westerns. Lois was a homemaker and loved her children & grandchildren. She was a hard worker always helping her husband as a farmer's wife.  She helped others and was a caregiver to her husband.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Glasscock (Eddie), Wanda Reaves (Tony), & Brenda Throckmorton (Jason); grandchildren, Berry & Allyson Glasscock, Lewis & Jennifer Reaves, Curtis & Angela Reaves, Emerson & Christian Quick, & Avery Throckmorton; great grandchildren, Hunter, Leyla, Timber, Easton, River & Archer Reaves and Lorelai Quick; siblings, Junie Bowen & Ike Bowen (Jerri) and caregivers, Edna Fields, Margie Hughes & Shirley Puryear.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Lewis, Amos, Carlton, & Grey Bowen and Eva Prince.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Alton Baptist Church with Reverend Daniel Whitt officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
