Lola Ann Matthews

VIRGILINA, VA Lola Ann Baylous Matthews, of Virgilina, departed for her heavenly home on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the age of 78. She was born in Halifax County on April 26, 1940 to the late Henry Brice Baylous and the late Mary Martha Cole Baylous and was married to the late J.D. Matthews. Lola was a faithful member of Centerville Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed interior decorating and gardening, especially her flowers. Surviving are her son, James Michael Matthews and wife, Donna; her daughters, Wanda Lloyd and husband, Robbie, and Lori Pulliam and husband, Amos; grandchildren, Jason Lloyd, Ashley Young, John Matthews, Grace Pulliam, James Pulliam, Brent Seamon, Sean Smith and Brandon Pulliam; great grandchildren, Morgan Young, Logan Young, and Macey Lloyd; sisters, Jean Blanks, Ruby Jacobs, Kaffie Ashley and Linda Barton; brothers, Wayne Baylous and Steve Baylous. Other than her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a brother, William “Billy” Baylous and a sister, Gladys Baylous Daniel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Centerville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the family cemetery on Ramble Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday at Centerville Baptist Church.
