CLOVER, VA. Mr. Lonnie Gordon Snead of 2175 Mill Road, Clover, VA, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the age of 84.Born February 11, 1931 in Halifax County, he was the son of the late Richard Walden Snead, Sr. and Bessie Moorefield Snead and was married to the lateLillian Hazelwood Snead.Mr. Snead was a retired plumber and electrician with Blanks and Dychesand a farmer.He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing andwas a member of Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 sons, Bobby Snead and wife Susan of Clover, VA, Larry Snead and wife Wanda of Scottsburg, VA.; 2 daughters, Brenda Conner and husband David of Clover, VA, Cathy Snead and Steve Blanks of Buffalo Junction, VA; 4 sisters, Nancy Lowery and husband Weldon of South Boston, VA, Edith Francis of Clover, VA, Shirley Snead of Scottsburg, VA, Edna Hatcher of Dryburg, VA,; 4 brothers, Robert Snead and wife Barbara of South Boston, VA, Cecil Snead and wife Janet of Richmond, VA, Johnny Snead and wife Lennie of Clover, Va, Roger Snead and wife Dianne of South Boston, VA.; 9 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-great Grandchild; a devoted friend Johnny Turner and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents and wife,Mr. Snead was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard Walden Snead, Jr. and James Snead. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Fork Baptist Church, Scottsburg, VA. with Reverend Aubrey Heath officiating.Burial will follow in Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends at Fork Baptist Church Tuesday night, April 28, 2015 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM and at other times at his home 2175 Mill Road, Clover, VA.
