Louise Martin Martin, wife of the late Ralph Monroe Martin, went to her heavenly home early Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the age of 94. Born in Halifax County on March 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late George Oliver and Kate Whitmore Martin. Louise cherished her family and enjoyed sharing fellowship with everyone she met. She was a member of Clover Church of God of Prophecy.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her children, Dorothy Martin Moorefield, Lois Ogle, Monroe Junior Martin, Joyce Newcomb, Daniel David “D.D.” Martin, Wayne Riley Martin, Vicky Lacks and Sheila Lloyd as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The family extends a special thank you to her caregiver, Tammy Mitchell, for the love and care that she provided over the years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by children, Mavis Martin, Judy Newcomb and Brenda Hughes; grandchildren, Kelly Martin, Cheyanne Hughes, Clifton Pruitt, Kinleigh Wilborn, and Eddie Humphries; and siblings, Ellis Hazelwood, Rosa Kincaid, Willy Martin, Leonard Martin, John Martin, Archer Martin and Ed Martin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at 3:00PM at the Clover Church of God of Prophecy with burial to follow in Clover Cemetery. The Reverend David Smith will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 25 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and at other times at her daughter Vicky's home.
