Louise Vaughan Smith

Louise Vaughan Smith, 87, widow of the Reverend Edward Leon Smith, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at The Woodview in South Boston. The daughter of John Wesley and Rosa Lee Doggett Vaughan, Louise was a graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1939 and of Geyer Business College. A member of Jamieson United Methodist Church, she was the Assistant to the Superintendent of Methodist Children's Home. She also worked for the Richmond Home for Ladies from 1976 until 1994. Funeral services will be 2PM Friday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Jane Lyon officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, starting at 1PM. Louise is survived by her sister, Frances Vaughan of Clarksville and an extended family.
