SOUTH BOSTON Mrs. Louise Rickmond Spangler of South Boston, VA, widow of Jack Franklin Spangler, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the age of 94. She was born in Halifax County on November 9, 1924 to the late Eugene and Mary Snead Rickmond. Louise was a member on New Covenant Worship Center and was a very devoted Christian. She physically wrote down the Bible and lived it every day of her life. Louise was very proud of her children and the fact that all of them had successful educations. Louise is survived by her daughters; Deborah Spangler Dyer, Sue Spangler Weakley and husband Mike, and Mary Spangler Brown and fiancé Terry; sons, Jack F.”Frankie” Spangler, Jr. and wife Cathy, Don Randall Spangler and wife Debbie, Dan Russell Spangler and wife Linda; 15 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; 7 Step Grandchildren; nephew, Charles Wagstaff and wife, Gloria; special sisters-in-law, Lillian Rickmond and Billie S. Hebb and a host of other family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Spangler; 4 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 27 at Trinity Holiness Church, Huell Matthews Hwy. South Boston with Reverend Steve Dyer officiating and Reverend Scott Dyer assisting. Interment will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
