Lowell Thomas "Tom" Reaves

Mr. Lowell Thomas "Tom" Reaves of 5031 Bold Springs Rd., South Boston, died February 16, 2011 at Riverside Health & Rehab Center in Danville. He was born in Halifax County the son of the late Roy L. Reaves and Frances Green Thomas. Mr. Reaves was a member of First Cross Roads Baptist Church in Turbeville and was employed with the Halifax County School System at Sinai Elementary School. He was a loving son, brother and a avid race car fan. Survivors include his Mother Frances Green Thomas, of Alton; four sisters: Linda R. Morris & her husband, Burnett of South Boston, Gayle Gravitt of South Boston, Margaret Keatts of Halifax, and Maria Carroll & her husband, David of Scottsburg, step-sister: Emily Rowland & her husband, Tootie of Chatham; a devoted and special friend: Joyce Graham of Halifax. Three nieces: Donna Shields of Amelia, Robin Moore of Halifax, and Michelle Stacks of Raleigh, NC; and a number of great nieces and nephews including Maddie Burke. Mr. Reaves is also survived by a number of special cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home, 5031 Bold Springs Rd., South Boston.
