Lucille Cassada Hazelwood

Mrs. Lucille Cassada Hazelwood of Scottsburg died Monday, September 27, 2010 at the age of 94. She was born in Charlotte Co. on October 6, 1915 to the late Billy and Annie Duffey Cassada and was married to the late Robert Thomas Hazelwood. Mrs. Hazelwood was a homemaker and was a member of Clover Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include a son, Donnie Joe Hazelwood and wife, Shelia of Drakes Branch; five daughters, Wanda Jean Hylton and husband, Jerry of Scottsburg, Shirley Elizabeth Briley and husband, Alan of Halifax, Thelma Ann Nichols of Saxe, Ethelyne Lacks and husband, Howard of Saxe, and Mary Jane Jackson and husband, Charles of Drakes Branch; 24 grandchildren; and a special friend, Eva M. Hazelwood. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Judge Hazelwood; a daughter, Sylvia Mae Hazelwood Tuck; and two grandsons, Randy Dale Lacks and Gerald Wayne Hazelwood. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday night from 7 until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
