Lucille Francis Thompson

Mrs. Lucille Francis Thompson went to her Heavenly home Friday, July 28, 2017.Born in Halifax County on March 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John Massey Francis and the late Minnie Owen Francis and was the widow of the late Fred Henry Thompson, Sr. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Mt. Cana United Methodist Church.She enjoyed gardening and all of her family. She was a homemaker and formerly employed with Lake Sleep Wear in Boydton, VA. Survivors include daughters; Elaine T. Hunt, Bonita T. Baylous (Steve), and Ann T. Elliott (Dean); sons, Wayne (Vickey), Cecil (Hazel), Harold (Sally), and Presley; daughter-in-law, Ruby Thompson; 16 Grandchildren; 31 Great Grandchildren; and 3 Great Great Granddaughters. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Fred H. Thompson, Jr; granddaughter, Amy Marie Thompson; 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Holmes and Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 7-8:30 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times the home of Harold and Sally Thompson, 8067 Bill Tuck Hwy. South Boston.
