Lucy B Jarrell

NATHALIE, VA Mrs. Lucy B Francis Jarrell, widow of Bob Hailey and Allen Jarrell, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the age of 91. She was born September 25, 1927 in Halifax County to the late Samuel Francis and the late Hallie Clay Francis. Lucy was retired from Thomasville Furniture and was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jarrell is survived by daughters, Janice Stewart and husband, Dennis of South Boston and Barbara Jean Elder of Nathalie; sisters, Ella Fisher of Volens and Annie Glasgow of Cluster Springs; brothers, Acie Francis of Republican Grove and Bobby Francis of Volens; grandchildren, Angela Bridgers, Tommy Elder and Jarrod Stewart; great grandchildren, Wesley Elder, Savannah Elder, Hannah Elder, Kala Bridgers, Kyle Bridgers and Kole Bridgers. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Hailey and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral Services for Lucy Jarrell will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 18 in the Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Reverends Mike Teixeira and Tim Mull officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10 AM-11 AM at the funeral home and other times at the home of Dennis and Janice Stewart 2307 Eastover Drive, South Boston. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, Brookneal, VA.
