Virgilina, VA. - Lucy Rebecca “Beck” Rice Honeycutt died on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at her home.“Beck” was born on October 8, 1926 in Granville County, NC to the late William Arthur Rice and Lucy Morris Rice.She was married to the late Melvin Marion Honeycutt.Rebecca was a missionary to her community and friends, always giving of her love, talents and time.A celebration of life will be held at Union Christian Church on Friday, July 31 at 2PM.Surviving Rebecca are her children, Marion Honeycutt Phillips, Rita Honeycutt Daniel and husband Bruce, Paul Honeycutt and Donna Elliott, Rachel Honeycutt Drake and husband Frank and her grandchildren, Vicky Cole and husband Bill, Adam West and Kristin Gordon, Robert Daniel, Chris Drake and Taylor Daniel and Ashley Drake.Also surviving “Beck” are her great grandchildren, Jobeth Weddle and husband Chase, John Arthur Cole and Abby Woltz and Savannah, Drew and Colton West, her sister, Bertha Elliott, her brothers William, Thomas, Cecil and Douglas Rice and many loved nieces and nephews.Preceding her in death are her son, John Norman Honeycutt, her son-in-law, Thomas Phillips and her sisters, Dorothy Honeycutt, Willie Lea Glasscock and Helen Newton.Donations may be made in the memory of Lucy Rebecca “Beck” Rice Honeycutt to United Christian Church, 8021 Florence Ave, Virgilina, VA 24598 and/or Sentara Halifax Regional Hospice, 2204 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592.The family of Mrs. Honeycutt is being cared for by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville.
