Lucy Hutcheson Mckenry

Mrs. Lucy Read Hutcheson McKenry, 94, widow of James Stuart McKenry, died Wednesday, December 05, 2007 at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville. Mrs. McKenry was the daughter of Numa Fletcher and Helen Hayes Read of Palmer Springs. She attended State Teachers College, now known as Longwood College, and taught school in the Mecklenburg County School system for 35 years; also serving as a Librarian. Memorial services will be 2PM Saturday at St. James Episcopal Church in Boydton, of which she was a member. Interment will be in St. James Episcopal Church Cemetery. Mrs. McKenry is survived by her daughter, Helen Hutcheson Massingill and her husband, James V. Massingill of Clarksville; grandson, John S. Massingill of Smithfield, VA. and granddaughter, Elizabeth Kessler of Wake Forest, NC. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Jack, Read, and Megan.
