SOUTH BOSTON Luther Flournoy Tuck, Jr. of the Omega community, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the age of 89.Born in Mecklenburg County on April 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Luther F. Tuck, Sr. and the late Maggie Jones Tuck.He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Comer Tuck. Luther was retired from Burlington Mills in Clarksville, VA.He was one of the biggest Nascar fans out there. He had three drivers in his lifetime that he admired, Cale Yarborough, Dale Earnhardt and of course Dale, Jr.Of the three, "The Intimidator" would have to be his favorite.He would listen to the races on the car radio in the early years until one year he received earphones and he could listen to the races in the house. He loved going to races at South Boston Speedway and Darlington. Luther always looked forward to the annual family trip to Tennessee and going fishing with his beloved, Hazel. Luther is survived by a daughter, Robin Tuck Arthur (David) of Hurt, VA; son-in-law, Ted Rickmond (Marilyn) of Blackstone, VA; grandchildren, Lindsie Goodman (Jimmy) of Hurt, VA and Ben Arthur of Hurt, VA; great grandchildren, Juliana and Alina Goodman; sisters, Bernice Speer ( Jim) of Clarksville, Mary Czelusniak (Joe) of Clarksville and Rea Hawks (Steve) of Richmond, VA; brother, Allen Tuck (Sandra) of Nelson; step children, Brenda C. Macy (James), Joyce C. Lowery, David A. Comer (Sarah) and Ricky D. Comer (Kathy). In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Tuck Rickmond; stepson, Wallace A. Comer, son-in-law, Roy Lowery and siblings, Lucille Riggan, Emma Dean Parham, Blanche Bagbey and Billy Tuck. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Clarksville at Oakhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and all other times at the home of Robin and David.
