Mabel Simmons Fuller

January 22, 1927 — December 15, 2004

Mabel Fuller, 77, died at her home in Clarksville on Wednesday, December 15, 2004. She had suffered from chronic lung disease. She was born Martha Mabel Simmons in Cherokee County, SC in 1927 and was preceded in death by parents Medford Farrow and Maud Rupe Simmons, her sister, Frieda Simmons Phillips and her step-sister Aileen Kenfield. Mabel graduated from C.H. Friend High School in South Boston in 1944. She was a long time hairdresser in South Boston and Clarksville and was beloved by her many friends and clients. Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with Reverend Dan Tilley officiating. Mabel is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mackie Fuller; her three children by her first husband, Richard W. Lowery: David D. Lowery of Austin, TX, Hollis Lowery Moore of Beaumont, TX and Mark F. Lowery, of Richmond. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anne Katharine Moore of Athens, GA; Elizabeth Moore of Austin, TX; Meghan Lowery of Gainesville, FL; David Lowery of Richmond; and Jason Lowery and Evan Lowery of Austin, TX. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Friday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to Lake County SPCA, Mecklenburg County Life Saving and Rescue Squad, or the Clarksville Library.
