CLARKSVILLE - Madeline Phillips Bush, widow of Chester Bush, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 95. The oldest of 10 children, she was born in Mecklenburg Co., VA on December 31, 1924 to the late George Pugh and the late Louise Adcock Pugh. Madeline was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star in Lynchburg, and a resident of Meadowview Terrace. She loved working crossword puzzles and playing bingo. Mrs. Bush is survived by her son, Claude Phillips and wife, Shirley of Clarksville; granddaughter, Tammy Bradshaw of Buffalo Junction; great grandchildren, Taryn Bradshaw, Sable Bradshaw, Tristan Bradshaw, and Mia Boswell; great-great grandchildren, A.J. Bradshaw and Kaison Walker; brother, Thomas Pugh and wife, Mildred of Chase City; sister, Jean Crownover and husband, Allen of Sherwood, AK; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, her first husband, Morton Phillips, her parents, and 7 brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be held in Oakhurst Cemetery on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Chet Bergeron officiating.
