Malcolm Frederick Bailey, Iii

Rick was born Malcolm Fredrick Bailey, III in Durham, NC. Rick was born March 1, 1967 to Mary Ann Shaw Keith, and Malcolm Frederick Bailey, Jr., known as Bill. He has two sons, Zachary Todd Bailey and Logan Ramsey. He also raised a stepdaughter, Jasmine. On March 11, a grandson, Reid Wilder Bailey, was born. His brother, Jeff Bailey, lives with their mother in Durham, NC. He has an aunt, Annette Bailey Tyson, and her daughter, Samantha Tyson. He also has an uncle, John Shaw, and many cousins on the Shaw side of the family. Rick also had many friends where he was raised and where he lived. Rick had just lost his father, Bill, on January 21 of this year. His grandparents on his father’s side, Bill and Doris Bailey, were known as “Papa B & Mama B,” predeceased him; as well as John and Lelia Lindsey Shaw on his mother’s side. He loved to hunt in the woods around his home in Granville County with Zach, his father, and his grandfather, Papa B. His hero was “Earnhardt” #3. He introduced Zach to round track racing at a very early age. When Earnhardt was racing you could find him in his recliner watching the races and loudly cheering him on. In the past two years, Rick had many medical problems, resulting from his car wrecks and his diabetes. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. Rick’s family will receive friends following the service. His family wants to thank everyone for their expressions of sympathy and food, flowers and cards. Please keep the family in your prayers.
