Malcolm Craig Hughes

Malcolm Craig Hughes of South Boston passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the age of 22. He was born in Halifax County on September 12, 2000 to Shay and Margaret Fallen Hughes.

His passion was music and loved all genres of music. Malcolm was a lover of philosophy and was always up for a spirited discussion. He was very artistic, loving to draw, sketch, and photography. He will be remembered as being a free spirit with an old soul.

In addition to his parents, Shay and Margaret, he is survived by a brother, Robbie Hughes (Caitilyn Rogers); grandparents, Janet & Tim Davis; grandfather, James Fallen; great grandmother, Carol Hughes; great aunt, Patricia "Pat Pat" Brown; girlfriend, Mariah Molina; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Roxie Harris; great grandparents, Stanley Hughes, Rosalea & Watt Lacks and Ross & Virginia Brown; uncle, Craig Fallen and his beloved dog and protector, Mick.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
