Margaret Anne Yarboro Yancey

CLARKSVILLE Margaret Anne Yarboro Yancey, age 94, went to her eternal home in heaven on May 4, 2022 . Mrs. Yancey was born the third of 7 children in Roxboro, NC to Obie and Flora Yarboro. She graduated from Allensville High School and attended the Raleigh School of Business. While she was offered employment in DC, she chose to remain in the area and married Emron Yancey in 1948.She worked for over 40 years at Burlington Industries in the Sample Planning Department while also working with her family on the farm. She loved her Lord and was committed to His Service as noted in her active membership in Union Chapel Baptist Church - teaching Sunday school, working with the GA’s, helping to develop and lead Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir, and acting in various other positions in the church. Mrs. Yancey was preceded in death by her husband, Emron, her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and has one surviving sister, Nell Garrett. She was the mother of 3 children, Beverly Chestnutt (Donald), Jane Yancey, and Stanley Yancey (Angela) who passed away in 2017. She has 6 grandchildren – Tatiana, Carlos, Silvia, Sandra (Michael), Sean (Rosin), and Madison as well as 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Union Chapel Baptist Church, 4433 Shiney Rock Rd. Clarksville VA, on May 7 at 11 am with family visitation at 10 am, prior to the service, and at other times at the home of Beverly, 315 Lick Branch Road, Clarksville, VA.Interment will be in the church cemetery.
