Margaret Epps Hemric of South Boston went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Margaret was born in Halifax County on September 10, 1923 and was blessed to see her 100th birthday. She was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Epps and the late Lillian Hall Epps. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Brownie" Hemric.
Margaret worked at J.P. Stevens for 10 years then Burlington Industries for over 26 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and attended regularly until her health declined. Margaret will always be remembered as a strong, courageous and remarkable woman.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Rice and husband, Allen; grandchildren, Stormy Rice and Chris Rice & wife, Tammy; great grandchildren, Meagan March, Kelsey McGinn, and Elizabeth Rice; great great grandchildren, Shaelynn Hollandsworth and Lanie McGinn; and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Cecil Epps, Genny Epps, Norell Ridgeway, Lawrence "Buck" Epps, and Evelyn Crews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Lewandowski officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
