Margaret "Polly" Dawson Reaves

Mrs. Margaret Dawson "Polly" Reaves of 1100 Cluster Springs Road, South Boston, VA died Friday, November 23, 2012 at the age of 77. She was born in Halifax County to the late Eddie Benford Dawson and the late Lizzie Zella Francis Dawson, and was married to the late Beverly Averette Reaves, Jr. Mrs. Reaves was a retired Tultex employee, and was a member of Alton Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Karla R. Clem and husband Troy of South Boston, VA; three sons, Barry D. Reaves and wife Tracey of South Boston, VA, Lester A. Reaves and wife Rhonda, Of Alton, VA and C. D. Reaves of South Boston; two sisters, Kitty D. Jones of Oak Level, VA and Mary Ann D. Throckmorton of Cluster Springs, VA; three brothers, Bill Dawson of Nathalie, VA, Bob Dawson of Alton, VA and Joe Dawson also of Alton, VA., and by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia D. Ford and four brothers, E. B. Dawson, Maynard Dawson, Melvin Dawson, and James Dawson. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2 pm at Alton Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Ball and Rev. Robin Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Alton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends ay Brooks Funeral Home Sunday night from 7 until 8:30, and at other times at the home of Karla and Troy Clem, 10085 Philpott Road, South Boston, VA.
