Mrs. Margaret Clark Tingen of 1110 Ash Ave., South Boston died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the age of 89. She was born in Halifax Co. on August 19, 1921 to the late James Russell Clark and the late Edith Carpenter Clark and was married to the late Ernest Flint Tingen. Mrs. Tingen was a retired sewing machine operator at South Boston Mfg. Co. and was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Catherine T. Whorley and husband, Ashby of South Boston; a daughter-in-law, Vicky C. Tingen of South Boston; a brother, Leroy K. Clark of South Boston; a sister, Shirley C. Stevens of South Boston; a granddaughter, Brigette Wucher and husband, Scot; two grandsons, Brent S. Tingen and wife, Ann and Stacy Tingen and wife, Beth; and four great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry Flint Tingen, two brothers, Delbert R. Clark and Raymond Clark, and two sisters, Gladys C. Dyer and Evelyn C. Long. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Woodfin officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Friday night from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Catherine and Ashby Whorley, 1143 Bethel Trail, South Boston.
