Margaret Virginia Lohr Gibbs, 96, widow of James "Jimmy" Michael Gibbs, of Madison, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Mt. View Nursing Home in Aroda. Mrs. Gibbs was born December 19, 1914 in Repton Mills, Va. to the late Edgar Perry Lohr and Nellie Lohr. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Woody, George, Alvin and Forest Lohr and sister, Irene Lay. Mrs. Gibbs was owner and operator of Fox Spring Farm on Gibbs Road. She was a lifetime charter member of the Madison Voluntter Fire Auxiliary, Montpelier Chapter of DAR and MESA. She was also a member of Beth Car Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a GA leader and helped with Vacation Bible School and hospitality. Mrs. Gibbs was an avid gardner and cook, lover of chickens and known for her homemade rolls and butter. Mrs. Gibbs is survived by her daughters, Patricia Anne Hobgood and her husband, Richard, of Buffalo Junction; and Sharon Koehn and her husband, Earl, of Houston, Texas; and sister, Ethel Hale and her husband, Dan, of Rapidan. Her grandchildren, Emily Fitzgerald, Angela Eckler, Dwayne Koehn and Brant Koehn and great grandchildren, Madeleine, Abigail and Luken Koehn, Thomas, Lydia, Ben, Noah, Ruth, Jacob and Candace Fitzgerald and Kathryn and Grace-Marie Eckler and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Beth Car Baptist Church in Madison conducted by David Hochstetler with interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11AM at the church, one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
