Marie Gail Clark Emerson

SOUTH BOSTON, VA Marie Gail Emerson of South Boston, VA died on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the age of 67. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on September 11, 1947 to the late Howard Taft Clark and the late Sarah Love Conner Clark. Ms. Emerson was a licensed pharmacy technician at Halifax Pharmacy for 11 years and formerly with Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.She was a member of McCanless Memorial United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 8 Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Survivors include two daughters, Gina Gail Vaughan Faragher and Nichole Marie Emerson, both of Winston Salem, NC; three grandchildren, T. Patrick Faragher, Sarah Vaughan Faragher, and Nathan William Cordell; a sister, Charlotte Jean McCormick; and nieces and nephews, Jason David McCormick, Helen McCormick Hudgins, and Rhonda Atkins Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Payne Atkins. Funeral services will held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Black Walnut Baptist Church with The Reverend Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and at other times at her home, 122 Edmunds St., South Boston, VA.
