Marie Talbott Ratliff

Marie Talbott Ratliff of Halifax passed away at her residence on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the age of 94. She was born in Halifax County on October 28, 1928 to the late Robert Talbott and the late Lottie Green Osborne Talbott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ratliff.

Marie was a devout Christian with a strong faith and a Bible reader. She was a long time member of South Boston Church of God and also attended Living Waters Church of God. She was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren. Cooking and having meals with her family were her favorite times.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Casey Roach and Christy Snead (Devin); great grandchildren, Christopher Beadles, Jr., Trevin Snead, Gabriel Snead, Justus Snead, and Luke Snead; and special neighbors who were committed to checking in on her and numerous nieces.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joe, she was preceded in death by her children, Joe "JT" Tinell Ratliff and Annette Ratliff Roach; siblings, Alvin Talbott, Ira Talbott, Herman Talbott, Ammon Talbott, John Talbott, Robert Talbott, Floyd Talbott, Mildred Talbott Warren, and Louise Talbott Hudson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at South Boston Church of God. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home .
