Marie Wiles Riddle

Clarksville, VA Marie “Peggy” Catherine Wiles Riddle, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. She was born May 15, 1935, in Mecklenburg County to the late Claudia Mae Englebright Wiles and the late Willie Joseph Wiles, Sr. Peggy worked at Craddock Terry Shoe Corp, Yancey’s restaurant and retired from Burlington Industries. She was a devoted member of The House of Prayer and served the Lord and her community through ushering, cleaning and caring for all people who had the pleasure of making her acquaintance. Cherishing her memory are her sister, Mary Lee Elliott and niece, Sharon Elliott Jones (Mark). In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by brothers, James Quincey Wiles, William “Billy” Hoover Wiles, and Willie Joseph Wiles, Jr.; sisters, Lily Frances Wiles Burnett and Brenda Ann Wiles Whitt. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the Newton-Wiles Family Cemetery located at 294 Newton Farm Road, Nelson, VA. The Reverends Buddy Davidson and Lucas Glasscock will officiate the service. Online condolences may be made at www.wclfh.com.
