Marjorie Blanks Boyd

Marjorie Blanks Boyd, 84, wife of Thomas E. ?Gene? Boyd, died Monday, February 12, 2007 at her home. Native to Clarksville, she was the daughter of Charles Watkins and Rosebud Winn Blanks. A graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1940, Marjorie was an organizing member of the local Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron; was employed at Burlington Industries for several years; and was assistant Postmaster during World War II. She was also Secretary/Treasurer for Lugee Tire Co. Graveside services will be 2PM Thursday at Oakhurst Cemetery with Reverend Rodney Barwick officiating. In addition to her husband, Marjorie is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Eugene, Jr. and Connie Echols Boyd of Clarksville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles W. and Stuart Blanks of Henderson, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Steven Boyd and Cassie Boyd, both of Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Julia Blanks Whitmire. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Wednesday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
