Mark Thomas Trickey

SOUTH BOSTON Mark Thomas Trickey of South Boston passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the age of 62.Born in Halifax County on July 23, 1959, he was the son of Caroline Snipes Wilde and the late Walter Thomas Trickey, Jr.He was happily married to his high school sweetheart, Lydia Reaves Trickey, for 40 years. Mark loved his family, especially his girls and granddaughter. He was always willing to offer advice and to lend a helping hand. He was a firm believer in doing the right thing.He could build and fix anything. He always worked hard and played hard, loving to have family and friends over to entertain.He was the Executive Vice President/COO of Comfort Systems in South Boston. He was a dedicated member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Mark is survived by his wife, Lydia; mother and step father, Caroline and Bill Wilde; daughters, Liz Smith (Justin) and Jill Hidy (Chris); granddaughter, Hadley Jane Smith; sisters, Susan Melton (Harris) and Cindy Adams (Archie); sister-in-law, Lynn Taylor; nieces & nephews, Brooke Tippett (Kevin), Blake Melton (Tiffany), and Ryan Taylor; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Cecil and Janey Reaves. Funeral services will be held at 5 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10 from 6 - 8PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at the home.
