Marsha Rae Anderson

December 3, 1942 — August 18, 2024

Marsha, a vibrant soul, a lover of life, music, and all things Margaritaville, set sail for her final voyage on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the age of 81.

Born in Maryland, she became a teacher, moved to Northern Virginia, and later settled in Clarksville, VA
teaching gifted students. When she retired, she enjoyed sunny Florida, fishing, and sailing the blue
waters.

Marsha loved Jimmy Buffett, and with her dad’s family margarita recipe in a salt-rimmed glass, she lived
carefree and with tropical abandon. Her passion for horses and camping was her escape into nature
where she felt alive whether sitting by a campfire or riding.

Her greatest love was her son John, who she adoringly referred to as "Scooter". The bond they shared
was unbreakable. In her later years, as she faced dementia, John and his wife, Vicki, lovingly cared for
her. She found solace in her grand dogs. Despite her challenges, the time we spent together was filled
with love, laughter, and so many precious memories. Marsha always left you laughing and with a smile
on your face.

She is survived by her son John, his wife Vicki, brothers Kerry (Candy) and Kert (Barb), and nieces and
nephew. Marsha will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

We ask that you pay tribute to her memory with Jimmy on the radio and a Margarita in your hand.

"Mother, mother ocean
I have heard your call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall, I’ve seen it all"

Fair winds and following seas Mom, we love you!
