Mrs. Martha Wallace Sizemore of South Boston died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the age of 87. She was born in West Virginia on August 9, 1923 to the late Harry M. Wallace and the late Evna Groghan Wallace and was married to the late Jasper Sizemore. Mrs. Sizemore was a US Army veteran of WW II, a retired benefits coordinator for the Social Security Administration, and attended McCanless Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation in Washington, DC, her name is shown on the Memorial's Historic Roll of Honor, Membership # 364135. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Gold Star Wives of America, the VFW Ladies Aux., Town & Country Senior Citizens, attended Penn State University, and was a hospital volunteer. Survivors include two sons, James E. Sizemore and wife, Deborah B. of South Boston and Michael B. Sizemore and wife, Andrea C. of Halifax; sister, Patty Rathfelder and husband, Tom of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Tracy S. Krempl and husband, Jason of Richmond, Christopher B. Sizemore and Allyson C. Sizemore, both of Halifax; and great grandchild, Ella Grace Krempl. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Glenna Bradford and a brother, Harry M. Wallace, Jr.. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Jim & Deborah Sizemore, 503 Merritt St., South Boston.
