Martha Ann Parker Wiles

Nelson, VA Martha Ann Parker Wiles, wife of the late Payton Henry Wiles, left for her heavenly home on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the age of 75. Born on December 17, 1946, in Mecklenburg County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Edna Parker Shearin and was raised by David Parker and Nannie Bet Parker. Ann was a Bluestone High School graduate and worked at Burlington Industries and later at Revlon. She was an avid shopper who enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. Martha was a member of Nelson Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, David Henry Wiles (Brenda) of Nelson and Brian Keith Wiles (Robbie) of Virgilina; grandsons, Cody Wiles and Colton Wiles; step-grandson, Michael Shelton; siblings, Christine Blackwell and Rufus Parker as well as nieces and nephews, Alvin Blackwell, James Blackwell, Brenda Blackwell Watson, R.J. Parker, Angie Parker Ladd, Mark Parker and Linda Jones Seate.In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was preceded in death by siblings, Annie Jones, Weldon Parker, and Dewey Lee Parker. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Nelson Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Reverends Don Wilson and Norman Talley will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at the church beginning one hour prior to the service. The family wishes to thank Ann's caregivers, Darlene Slaughter, Sandra Stone, Shirley Moya and Donna Wheeler, for the loving care that they provided.
