Marvin Dean "Coonie" Moorefield

Mr. Marvin Dean "Coonie" Moorefield of 218 Chalmers St., South Boston, VA died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the age of 79. He was born in Clover, VA on May 3, 1934 to the late Carl Moorefield and the late Katie Watts Moorefield. Mr. Moorefield was a veteran of the US Army and was retired from the Virginia ABC Board. He was a member of Clover United Methodist Church. Survivors include a brother, Aubrey "Petro" Moorefield and his wife, Becky of Clover, VA; devoted friends, Paulette Daniel, Faye Kean, and Alice Bennett; and special friend, Penny. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Ruth Moorefield, and a step son, Bobby Reagan. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Clover Cemetery with Rev. Rick Stigile officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Monday, June 3, 2013 from 7 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Petro and Becky Moorefield, 306 N. Main St., Clover, VA.
