Mary Morris Clark

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Morris Clark passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at the age of 95. Born in Halifax County on March 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas Morris and the late Nannie Parker Nelson Morris and was married to the late Benjamin M. Clark. Mrs. Clark was a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church and loved her church family. She is survived by daughters, Gracie Lorene Clark of Halifax, Shirley Clark Taylor and husband, Alan of Brookneal, VA; grandchildren, Dale Clark, Karen Allen (Mike), Charlie Clark Jr. (Tracy), Timothy Clark (Dawn) and Wendy Yancey (Walter); 11 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sisters, Francis Conner and Myrtle Howerton Glass; brother, Riley Morris; daughters in law, Linda Clark and Eunice Clark and numerous nieces and nephews. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Benjamin Lee Clark and Charlie Monroe Clark, Sr; brothers, Willie Morris and Paige Morris; and sister, Rita Nell Brown. Funeral services for Mrs. Clark will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 3:00PM in the Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Reverends Walter Yancey and Jamie Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home, and other times at each of her daughter's homes, Shirley Taylor, 101 Terry Rd., Brookneal, VA, and Gracie Lorene Clark, 8211 Mountain Rd., Halifax, VA.
