Mary Jane Watts Epps

HALIFAX, VA Mrs. Mary Jane Watts Epps, wife of James David Epps,III, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the age of 76.She was born in Halifax County on August 23, 1943 to the late Charlie Franklin Watts and the late Beatrice Gravitt Watts. Mary Jane was a graduate of Halifax County High School, Class of 1961. She retired from ASCS Office, with 38 years of employment, then worked for Halifax County in a variety of offices. Mary Jane was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Jimmy, she is survived by a step son, James David Epps,IV of LaCrosse, VA; step grandson, James David Epps,V; niece, Phyllis Watts Vernon; nephews, Franklin Watts, Eddie Glascock, Michael Glascock; sisters-in-law, Norma Epps Chaney and Scotty Epps Felton; and special friend, Leta Davis.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joyce Glasscock and Jesse Franklin Watts. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Reverends Jack Stewart and Rod Chaney officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1:00-2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
