Mary Keeton Pruitt

Buffalo Junction, VA - Mary Keeton Pruitt, wife of the late Richard Oliver Pruitt, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the age of 81. She was born on October 19, 1937 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Joseph Franklin and Gracie Elliott Keeton. Mrs. Pruitt retired from Russell Stover Candy Factory after 35 years of employment. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle. Mrs. Pruitt is survived by daughters Betty P. Smith (Homer) of Oxford, NC andMary Elizabeth P. Barnette (Keith) of Roxboro, NC; sons Ronnie Earl Pruitt (Kathy) and Richard Anthony Pruitt both of Buffalo Junction; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are siblings Maurine Wilbourne and Joseph Keeton both of Roxboro, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy P. O’Briant, son Fred O. Pruitt, granddaughter, Amanda G. Jordan, sisters Joyce Keeton, Ida Waldrop and Diana Duncan as well as a brother, Melvin Keeton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The Reverends Frankie Reeves and Billy Coghill will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. The family is being served by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
