Mary Railey Riggan

Mrs. Mary Railey Riggan, 71, widow of Donald Burse Riggan, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in Granville Medical Center in Oxford, NC. Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Mary was the daughter of Daniel Carlton and Ruth Coker Railey. A graduate of Vance-Granville High School, she was retired from Burlington Industries with 35 years of service and was a member of Tungsten Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Sam Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at the Royster Family Cemetery. Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kevin Nicholson of Bullock, NC; sister, Jean Griffin of Stem, NC; and brothers, Carlton William Railey of Henderson, NC and Joseph William Railey of Florida. Grandchildren, Angel Clay of Oxford, NC and Christopher Nicholson of Bullock, NC; stepdaughter, Teresa R. Jaynes of Townsville, NC; stepsons, Jimmy Riggan of Jacksonville, FL, Johnny Riggan of Gastonia, NC, Charles Riggan of Oxford, NC and Mike Riggan of Townsville, NC; step-grandchildren, Stephanie Dixon, Angela Nicholson, Amy Riggan, Katy Riggan, Donnie Riggan, Chris Pegram, Tina Riggan, Annie Riggan, Penny Riggan, Spencer Riggan also survive her. She was preceded in death by step-grandson, Eugene Jaynes. The family will receive friends 7-8:30PM Wednesday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
