South Boston - Mrs. Mary Sue Satterfield of South Boston, VA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on April 21 the daughter of the late Charlie Green Satterfield and the late Minnie Wilkerson Satterfield and was married to George Samuel “Sammy” Satterfield. Sue was a member of Dan River Baptist Church and a former employee of J.P. Stevens. She loved to go shopping and enjoyed talking on the phone with her family and friends. Mrs. Satterfield is survived by her husband; daughter, Deborah Crenshaw Roller of South Boston; grandson, Justin E. Roller and wife, Heather of Astoria, NY; sisters, Lottie Tate of Halifax, VA, Myrtle Dobson of Sandston, VA, and Lucille Raynor of South Boston: and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin Satterfield, William Satterfield, Archie Satterfield, and Henry Satterfield. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Reverend Doug Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends in the Dan River Baptist Church Fellowship Hall after the service and at other times at the home, 1042 Dan River Church Rd., South Boston.
