Mason Morton Hite, 78, widower of Clarice Hite, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at The Woodview in South Boston.Mr. Hite was born February 22, 1936 in Buffalo Junction to the late Morton Sanford and Fleda Wells Hite.He was a lifelong farmer of cattle and tobacco, and loved tending to his farm.Mr. Hite was employed with Burlington Industries for over 10 years.He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and was a loyal fan of the Redskins.He loved people, most especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; he could make anyone laugh.Funeral services will be 2pm Sunday at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle with the Reverend Dr. William Weeks officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.Left to cherish his memories are his first wife of 28 years and mother of his children, Annie Lee Hite Ball, daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl Fuller and Kathryn Hite, both of Buffalo Junction, and JoAnne and Joseph Morak of Chittenango, NY and son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Carrie Hite of Cleveland, NY.His grandchildren, Kelli Vaughan (Todd), Christie Newcomb (Matt), Jordan Clifford, Matthew Morak, Will Hite and Jack Hite, great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Laci, Joseph and Will and brothers, the Reverend Randolph Hite (Linda) and Emery Hite (Lynn) also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Hite.The family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Saturday from 7-8:30pm.
