Maude Sandy Fleming

Mrs. Maude Sandy Fleming, 94, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 in Rose Manor Nursing Home in Durham, NC. She was born in Lenoir, NC to George and Eva Vargo Winkler on March 12, 1916. Mrs. Fleming was retired from Craddock Terry Shoe Company, having worked in Chase City for 33 years. A member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Clarksville, funeral services will be held there at 11 AM Thursday, with Deacon John Sadowski officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery. Mrs. Fleming is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Eugene Vincent and Lois Sandy, Jr. of Durham and Joseph R. Sandy of Rougemont. Her ten grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Hall of Durham; and step-daughter, Judy Fleming of Durham also survive. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene Sandy, Sr. and Robert Wilson Fleming, and her sons, Charles Sandy and Patrick Sandy. The family will receive friends 9AM-10:30 AM Thursday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA.
