Mrs. Maurine Puryear Morris, 90, passed away quietly on Monday, February 23, 2015, at Meadowview Terrace in Clarksville, VA.Mrs. Morris was born October 30, 1924 in Mecklenburg County, VA. to the late Samuel Jackson Puryear and Lottie Redd Puryear.Mrs. Morris attended Bluestone Baptist Church.She was retired from the textiles industry and worked at Lake Sleepwear as a supervisor for 15 years.Mrs. Morris is survived by her brother Earlie Puryear, from Buffalo Junction, VA, and was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edward Morris, her sons Gilbert T. Morris and Robert Phillip Morris, her brother Pete Puryear of South Boston, VA and her sister Gallie P. Gordon of Clarksville, VA.Graveside services will be 2 PM Wednesday at Virgilina cemetery with the Reverend David Maynard and Reverend Norman Talley officiating.
