CLOVER - Mavis Louise Martin Martin, 69, of Clover went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on May 18, 2021 in Lynchburg. She was the loving wife of Randolph Martin for over 51 years, who survives. Born on January 8, 1952 in Halifax County, she was the daughter of the late Monroe Martin and Louise Martin of Scottsburg, who survives. Mavis worked at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center in South Boston. She enjoyed working outside in her flowers and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Clover Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister Brenda Hughes. Mavis is survived by her two daughters, Rhonda Martin and Patricia “Sissie” Smart and husband Robbie; son Randy Martin all of Scottsburg; granddaughters Stephanie Austin and husband Mitch of Clover; Christie Harrell and husband Adam of Midlothian; great-grandchildren A.J., Daniel, Jace, Clara, Jackson, Carlisle, Riley, and Jonathan; sisters Dorothy Moorefield, Lois Ogle, Joyce Newcomb, Judy Newcomb, Vicky Lacks, and Sheila Lloyd; brothers Jr. Martin, Wayne Martin, and D.D. Martin; and numerous other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Clover Cemetery with Pastor David Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday night, May 20, 2021 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 1200 Green Level Rd., Scottsburg, VA.
