Melvin Grey Doggett

Mr. Melvin Grey Doggett, 81, died June 8, 2006 in Chippenham Hospital in Richmond. Born and reared in Mecklenburg County, Mr. Doggett graduated with the Clarksville High School Class of 1941 and attended college in Lynchburg. A member of Ephesus United Methodist Church, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Doggett was retired from the Civil Service and from UKrops. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Henry Lovelace officiating. Interment with military rites will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery. Mr. Doggett is survived by sister, Ada Doggett Chewning of Clarksville and brothers, Fletcher Redd ?June? Doggett and David Doggett, both of Skipwith. The family will receive friends prior to the service.
