Melvin Hardy Fuller, 84, husband of Janet Crowder Fuller, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville.Melvin was the eldest of six children born to the late Daniel and Zelma Blanks Fuller.He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.Melvin worked for Burlington Industries from 1959 until 1993, lastly as a Supervisor in the Combing Plant.After his retirement, he joined the staff of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, where he was employed for 15 years.A member of Liberty Baptist Church, funeral services will be held there at 11 am on Friday with the Reverends Rodney Barwick and Gene Burris, and Mr. Michael Lyon officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.In addition to his wife of 62 years, Melvin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Melvin Keith and Kim Fuller, daughter and son-in-law, Susan F. and Blair Dalton, all of Boydton and grandchildren, Brian Dalton, Mark Dalton, Lori Whittington, Danny Fuller, and Kevin Fuller, Katie Smith and Kara Smith.His nine great grandchildren, sister, Grace F. Hughes, of Richmond, and brothers, James D. Fuller of Hiwasse, Billy Winn Fuller of Clarksville, George Earl Fuller of Buffalo Junction, and Paul Lucius Fuller, of Clarksville, also survive.The family will receive friends at the church, starting at 10am.
