Melvin Leroy Tuck

Buffalo Junction, VA - Mr. Melvin Leroy Tuck, age 83, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016.He was born in Mecklenburg County on May 18, 1933 to the late Gladys Wells and Roy Willie Tuck.Mr. Tuck was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Burton Tuck.Melvin was the owner of M.L. Tuck Construction for more than 50 years.He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Melvin is survived by sons, Dale Alan Tuck and his wife, Heather, of Buffalo Junction, Jeffrey Dean Hand of Chatham, and Kevin Avery Hand of Cary, NC; a daughter, Cheryl Hand Dillard and her husband, Randy, of Wake Forest, NC; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kerry Burton Hand and a brother, Milton Ray Tuck. The family of Melvin L. Tuck will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA.The funeral service will be Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oakhurst Cemetery.The Reverend Dr. Greg Randall will be officiating.
