Merle Jeanette Dillow

Mrs. Merle Jeanette Davis Dillow of Halifax passed away on Saturday, July 29 at the age of 71. She was born in Halifax County on March 15, 1946 the daughter of the late Johnnie Davis and the late Annie Walker Davis. Mrs. Dillow was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was the former owner of Country Diner and Mountain Road Diner. Cooking and meeting people were her passion. Jeanette is survived by her husband, J.C. Dillow; three children, Janet Stevens and husband, Gary, Gary Adcock and wife, Monica, and Donald Adcock and wife, Christie; god child, Michael Rizzo; step child, Todd Dillow and wife, Delaine; sister, Virginia Short; grandchildren, Beth Murray and husband, Travis, Punky Snead and husband, Jamie, Lindsay Adcock and husband, Shawn, Patrick Adcock, Lucas Adcock, Daniel Eanes and wife, Karyn, and Jeremy Eanes; and great-great grandchildren, Madison Murray, Macy Murray, Alyssa Jo Snead, Aubree Snead, Zade Adcock, and Bronx Eanes. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Clifton Davis, and two sisters, Joan Clardy and Lois Thompson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church with the Reverend Don Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Southside Baptist Church on Monday, July 31 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home, 1246 Shady Grove Church Rd., Virgilina.
