Michael Gerrity

Michael Gerrity, 58, of Buffalo Junction, VA died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in his home.He was born September 1, 1957 in Washington, D.C. to the late James and Margaret Bailey Gerrity and grew up in Bowie, MD. Michael enjoyed fishing and was an avid lover of nature, animals and wildlife. He worked as an antique dealer and shared his talents as a woodworker, making many beautiful pieces of furniture. Michael is survived by his wife, Margot. Mr. Gerrity is also survived by daughter Pearl Gerrity; step-daughter, Topaz Elliott; sister, Mary Ellen Otterbacher of Crofton, MD; brothers, James Gerrity of Bowie, MD and Brian Gerrity of Severna Park, MD; and grandchildren, Cedar Elliott, and Sage Elliott.Memorial services will be held at 759 Ferry Hill Trail, Clarksville, VA on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 PM, officiated by the Reverend Richard Birt Cory with a reception immediately following at 458 Locust Lane in Buffalo Junction, VA.The family requests you consider contributions in Michael’s memory to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.afsp.org.
