Michael Arthur "Mike" Higgins

Michael Arthur “Mike” Higgins, 73, passed away quietly on Monday, March 9, 2015, at his home in Clarksville, VA.Mr. Higgins was born October 18, 1941 in Lexington, NC to the late Arthur Romulus Higgins and Sarah Lyerly Higgins.In 1960 he graduated from Lexington Senior High School then moved on to Western Carolina University, where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree.Mr. Higgins served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Turkey and Japan.He worked for Burlington Industries as a department manager for 35 years.Mike is survived by his wife, Betsy B. Higgins, his daughters Amy Franklin of Clarksville and Lana Bunce of Lexington, NC, and his son, Brad Franklin of Greensboro, NC.He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Higgins and his sister, Barbara Higgins Smith.Visitation for Mr. Michael A. “Mike” Higgins will be held on Wednesday from six until eight o’clock pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.A funeral service will be held on Thursday at two o’clock pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
