Michael Albright Lipford

Michael Albright Lipford of South Boston passed away at his home on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the age of 66.  He was born in Halifax County on April 18, 1957 to the late James Henry Lipford and the late Mary Alice Murray. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Farris Lipford.

Michael was a graduate of Halifax County High School where he played basketball for the Comets. Then he continued his education receiving a BA degree in Business from Virginia Tech in 1979.  He loved travelling, especially going to the beach, and hiking.  The love of his life was his family.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Drake Lipford; daughter, Lauren Lipford; stepsons, Adam Sheedy and David Sheedy; and step grandson, Phoenix Schilberg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step son, Joseph Sheedy II.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Halifax Memorial Gardens, 3211 Halifax Road, South Boston, VA.
