SOUTH BOSTON, VA. Mr. Michael Dean "Mike" Tuck of South Boston, VA died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the age of 63. Mike was born in Halifax County, VA on July 12, 1952 to Hilda Crenshaw Tuck and the late Cecil Richard "C.R." Tuck. Mr. Tuck was a retired Captain with the South Boston Fire Department. He was a lifetime member of the Halifax County Rescue Squad, where he served as a lieutenant and vice president. Mike taught for the Virginia Department of Fire Programs locally and at Southside Virginia Community College in Keysville. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Tuck is survived by his mother, Hilda C. Tuck of South Boston; a son, Chris Tuck and wife, Elizabeth of South Boston; a brother, Marshall Tuck of South Boston; two sisters, Debra Tuck of Halifax and Donna T. Clark and husband, Aubrey "Bear" of South Boston; a step grandson, Noah Tuck; and Chris's mother, Sharon Cline Tuck of South Boston. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Jason Dean Tuck. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 2:00 PM at the Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 2 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of his mother, 3079 Philpott Rd., South Boston.
