Mildred Faye Ferguson

South Boston - Mildred Faye Ferguson of South Boston passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the age of 74. The daughter of the late Halifax Thornton Layne and the late Maggie Mae Layne she was born in Halifax County, VA on August 24, 1944. Mildred was a housekeeper and was of the Christian faith. Ms. Ferguson is survived by daughters, Debra Hite and husband, Mike of Virgilina, Tracey Martin Garrett and husband, James of Ohio; son, Anthony Powell of South Boston; grandsons, Chris Hite of Virgilina and Joey Powell of Ohio; granddaughters, Mina and Amber Powell of South Boston; special nephew, Ray Perkins; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bonnie Conner. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tommy Joe Martin. A memorial service will be held later.
